Your Situation

You and the members of your team work in various locations, internationally and in different time zones. In addition, you work in a matrix organization and have to be able to motivate your team in such a way that your team members, despite the great distances and their local tasks, still feel committed to your team. You want to assure a reliable and dependable collaboration with your colleagues and co-workers regardless of the distances involved. Furthermore, you want to be able to establish positive working relationships in your "virtual" collaboration as well as to strengthen the communication in your teams.

Your Benefit

After completing this integrated blended course, which is similar to a workshop, you will be able to boost the performance of your virtual team through specific, tailored strategies. In virtual sequences, you will discover methods for goal-driven, interactive communication, find out whats builds trust and learn about specific media that you can use to strengthen your "online" presence as a manager.

  • ­Creating trust and virtual "closeness": Build trust and overcome destructive modes of behavior in teams that are working in different geographical locations and/or virtual teams
  • ­Cultural differences as a challenge and an opportunity:
    Influence of cultural differences and different personalities (dealing with these factors in the virtual realm, demands, conflicts/tensions, differences in mentality)
  • ­Encouraging team member and team engagement:
    Integration, involvement and development
  • ­Planning and managing communication:
    • Synchronous vs. asynchronous communication
    • Individual vs. team
    • The right tools for a given situation
  • ­Using a wide range of media: Dealing with the pitfalls of technology
  • ­Online meetings: Holding more interactive and efficient meetings
