Succesfull virtual cooperation with chinese partners: mastering intercultural challenges in virtual settings
Persistent travel restrictions create new challenges in international cooperation. In German-Chinese project teams, but also in cooperation with Chinese customers or partners, there are increasing friction losses that result from limited communication over distance. Personal meetings no longer take place, the basis of the cooperation is now formed by emails, phone calls or virtual meetings and information sessions.
Especially in interaction with a relationship and network-oriented culture like the Chinese, the mechanisms of virtual communication are strengthened negatively. The reduction in the possibilities of expression, the time limitation and, last but not least, differences in the ways of communication hinder personal exchange and relationship building - the basis of successful cooperation from a Chinese perspective.
This Live-Online-Training supports you in recognizing and overcoming the challenges of German-Chinese cooperation in virtual space. What are typical pitfalls? What should you do even more if you no longer have the opportunity to meet in person?
In this training you will become aware of the influences of virtual communication in work and business situations. You identify possible "stumbling blocks" and develop strategies and options for action that give you security and prospects of success in further cooperation with your Chinese colleagues and partners.

Digital communication lacks some important means of communication, such as gestures, body language and often facial expressions. This often unconsciously conveys a very one-dimensional picture of the actual message.
In a content-oriented culture such as the German, communication is goal-oriented and focuses on exchanging facts. This is reinforced by communication via the media. It can be overlooked, that good cooperation for colleagues or partners in China is also characterized by the fact that one develops and maintains the personal relationship. Frictional losses occur unintentionally.
