Course description

You are a manager working in an innovative and complex environment. The challenges you and your team face are constantly changing, and you feel that your professional environment is changing faster than ever before. Markets are dominated by “VUCA”: volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. You want to expand your leadership skills and options for action in order to remain successful with your employees in this environment. Agile working is becoming a competitive advantage: personal responsibility, flexibility, and self-organization to recognize changes and respond quickly and appropriately. You can face the challenges of agile transformation in small and large organizational units and prepare yourself for them with this training.

In this practical 3-day training course, you will learn the principles of agile management. Based on the core elements of strategy, organization, leadership & behavior, and culture & mindset, you will prepare for agile transformation in your organization and receive concrete implementation ideas for your area of responsibility.

The right mindset is crucial for applying agile methods (Kanban, SCRUM, etc.). In this practical 3-day training course, you will learn the principles of the agile world and Management 3.0 for your area of responsibility.

Fundamentals of agile working for managers

  • Areas of action/elements of agile management: (big picture)
  • Framework conditions: How do I lead? What is the behavior and what are the expectations for collaboration?
  • Opportunities and risks of agile working (personal responsibility/self-organization)
  • Strategy: Why agile? / Vision and added value: Creating long-term business value
  • Agile values & principles based on the agile manifesto
  • Leading agile teams: Agile coaching

Fundamentals and components of agile transformation

  • Analysis of your own organization: How agile am I (as a manager) and how agile are we as a team/organization?
  • How do I get from the strategy (my department/team) to the agile organization that suits me best? Presentation and application of agile techniques (e.g., retrospectives, team & project charter, planning poker, customer reviews) and methods/frameworks (using the examples of SCRUM, Kanban, and design thinking)
  • Agile mindset: Thinking and acting for a more agile culture

Individual assessment: Analysis of the agile maturity level of your own organization

Derivation of possible fields of action for agile approaches: How do I transform my team into an agile one? (Development of a roadmap/options for action)

Selected agile techniques will be applied in teamwork using concrete examples from the group of participants. You are welcome to bring your own topics and work on them.

You will receive 19.5 PDUs (Professional Development Units) for recertification.
