Simon Brechel

Simon Brechel was born in 1984 and lives with his wife and two children in Darmstadt, near Frankfurt. He completed a diploma & bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics. His studies were characterized by several stays abroad, e.g. in Great Britain and Japan.
Simon Brechel spent the first 10 years of his professional life working in the automotive industry. There he worked as a management consultant and project manager. Through his many years of professional experience, he has mastered the art of translating theoretical sustainability concepts into practical business concepts.
Since 2020, Simon Brechel has been working in the field of climate protection and in parallel is self-employed as a freelance sustainability manager. He supports companies with his expertise, leads seminars and gives lectures on sustainable business. The focus of his work is on corporate sustainability management, the design of sustainable supply chains, the preparation of sustainability reports, and the common good economy.
Simon Brechel is an official training partner of the German Sustainability Code, an internal auditor for social systems, a certified consultant for the common good economy, a trained CSR manager and an operations officer for waste. Furthermore, he has extensive knowledge in sustainability reporting according to the GRI standard.
Simon Brechel prefers to spend his free time with his family. In addition, he regularly does sports and enjoys hiking.
